OK, I bought the 72 piece Sonicrafter set. I was building a project and needed to cut off the ends of some dry wall screws where they protruded through the wood.
Ah, I thought just the job for the Sonicrafter and its metal saw blade! NOPE, it took about 4 min to saw through the little tippy end of the screw. OK, yeah, I know, dry wall screws are pretty tough so I tried the carbide semicircular blade. Not much difference, lotta noise, not much progress.
So I took out my die grinder I bought reconditioned at Sears for $50 with a stone grinding cone. The rest of the 14 screws were gone in as much time as it took me to cut off the first 2 with the Sonicrafter.
It's great at sanding but I have a detail sander that cost 'bout $40.
So far - not impressed!Get more detail about Rockwell RK5102K Sonicrafter Deluxe 72-Piece Kit.
